Past Gastric cancer with peritoneal metastases (GCPM) portends a poor prognosis. Despite initial promising results of neoadjuvant intra-peritoneal and systemic (NIPS) chemotherapy trials, the only phase III randomized controlled trial to date (PHOENIX-GC) reported a survival benefit with IP paclitaxel (PTX), systemic paclitaxel + S-1 but did not reach statistical significance.
