As 25% of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) have liver metastases, a treatment strategy for CRC with liver metastases (CLM) is necessary to improve the prognosis of CRC. Resection of CLM contributes to the prolongation of overall survival (OS).
1 However, the recurrence rate after resection of CLM is also high, ranging from 52% to 72%, with residual liver recurrence accounting for more than 25% of cases.
