Zusammenfassung

Die Prävalenz für eine Intelligenzminderung (IM) liegt bei ca. 1 %. IM ist durch eine Abweichung der intellektuellen Fähigkeiten um mehr als zwei Standardabweichungen vom Durchschnitt der Altersgruppe sowie Einschränkungen der adaptiven Kompetenzen gekennzeichnet. Kinder und Jugendliche mit einer Intelligenzminderung weisen eine erhöhte Vulnerabilität auf, sowohl somatisch als auch psychisch zu erkranken, wobei genetische Dispositionen eine große Rolle spielen. Diagnostisch sind neben einer umfänglichen Anamnese die klinisch neurologische und psychiatrische Untersuchung sowie eine systematische funktionale Verhaltensanalyse unentbehrlich. Gestützt auf diese empfehlen sich evidenzbasiert in der Behandlung impulsiv (auto)aggressiven und stereotypen Verhaltens verhaltenstherapeutische Interventionen und als Ultima Ratio Antipsychotika. Koinzidente psychische Störungen werden mit Ausnahme der Aufmerksamkeitsdefizit-/Hyperaktivitätsstörung leitliniengerecht wie bei nicht intelligenzgeminderten Kindern und Jugendlichen behandelt.
