Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is a major public health problem being one the leading global causes of morbidity and mortality [1]. The Global Burden of Disease Study estimated that in 2016 lower respiratory infections caused 4.4% of all deaths in patients of all ages [1]. Die Therapie von Echinokokkosen sollte immer in spezialisierten Zentren erfolgen. Eine symptomlose Echinokokkose kann – egal ob von Hunde- oder Fuchsbandwurm ausgelöst – konservativ erfolgen. Wenn eine Op. nötig ist, kann es sinnvoll sein, vorher Zysten zu leeren und zu desinfizieren.
