A 37-year-old man with migraine without aura found sumatriptan, eletriptan and rizatriptan to be effective in the treatment of his migraine [dosages and routes not stated], but he experienced 'triptan sensations' such as neck stiffness, nausea and unpleasant 'plugged' sensations in his hypochondrium and chest [time to reaction onsets not stated]. After he received the kampo medicine kakkon-to-ka-senkyu-shin'i for sinusitis, the frequency of his migraine episodes reduced. Furthermore, concomitant use of triptans and the kampo medicine prevented the occurrence of the 'triptan sensations'. …
