2. Epidemiologie der chronisch-entzündlichen Darmerkrankungen

Zusammenfassung

Epidemiologie befasst sich zum einen mit der Häufigkeit von Erkrankungen, zum anderen mit der Identifikation von Faktoren, die mit dem Erkrankungsrisiko in Zusammenhang stehen. Bei Erkrankungen mit unklarer Ätiologie, zu denen die chronisch-entzündlichen Darmerkrankungen (CED) weiterhin zu zählen sind, sollen epidemiologischen Studien v. a. hilfreiche Anhaltspunkte zu möglichen kausalen Faktoren liefern. Epidemiologische Daten bilden zudem die Grundlage für Versorgungsforschung und -planung, aber auch für die Optimierung klinischer Studien.
