A 57-year-old man developed bleeding mouth ulcers, loose stools and lightheadedness during treatment with imatinib for gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST). The man, who was diagnosed with GIST, started receiving imatinib [imatinib mesylate] 400mg daily (neoadjuvant chemotherapy) [route not stated]. However, he developed bleeding mouth ulcers, loose stools and lightheadedness [duration of treatment to reactions onsets not stated]. The man's imatinib dose was reduced to 300mg.
