Zusammenfassung

Aufgrund diverser Vorteile in Bezug auf Knochenerhalt, geringere Invasivität und Operationszeiten erfolgen zunehmend Implantationen schaftfreier Prothesendesigns. Auch die inverse Schulterprothetik weist weltweit steigende Implantationszahlen auf. So wurden bereits 2002 erste schaftfreie inverse Schulterprothesen entwickelt. Heute kann der Schulterchirurg auf eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher schaftfreier inverser Designs und Möglichkeiten verschiedener teils sekundär konvertierbarer inverser Implantatsysteme zurückgreifen. Der vorliegende Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über Indikationen, Grenzen und Ergebnisse verfügbarer schaftfreier inverser Schulterprothesensysteme und beleuchtet kritische Fragen.

Mit dem demographischen Wandel versorgt auch die Chirurgie immer mehr betagte Menschen. Von Entwicklungen wie Fast-Track können auch ältere Menschen profitieren und bei proximaler Humerusfraktur können selbst manche 100-Jährige noch sicher operiert werden.
