In a retrospective study of nine patients, a patient [age and sex not stated] developed oedema on the cheek following administration of meglumine antimonate [Glucantime]. The patient, who had cutaneous leishmaniasis, started receiving meglumine antimonate injection [dosage and route not stated]. After the second injection of meglumine antimonate, the patient developed a delayed oedema on the cheek [time to reaction onset not stated]. The patient was treated with systemic corticosteroids. Within three days, the oedema resolved. The patient received a third injection of meglumine antimonate, which was tolerated well. …
