A 28-year-old man developed nausea and persistent elevations in ALT during treatment with methotrexate [route, dosage and duration of treatment to reactions onsets not stated]. The man presented with inflammatory monoarthritis of the right knee. He initially received treatment with intermittent unspecified steroid injections and subsequently received treatment with methotrexate and sulfasalazine. However, methotrexate was discontinued as he developed persistent elevations in ALT and nausea [outcome of nausea not stated]. Additionally, sulfasalazine was ineffective.
