Abstract
Synovial sarcoma of the diaphragm is an extremely rare tumor with a multidisciplinary approach being essential in the proper diagnosis and treatment. We present a case of a 64-old man, who was accidentally diagnosed with a synovial sarcoma of the diaphragm infiltrating the right hepatic vein when specifying a heart disease. We radically removed the tumor with the adjacent pericardium and part of the anterior wall of the right hepatic vein near its infusion into the inferior vena cava. One year after the operation and adjuvant chemotherapy, the patient is in excellent condition and with no evidence of recurrence.
