Zusammenfassung

Der selektive Mutismus ist durch eine emotional bedingte Selektivität des Sprechens definiert und wird sowohl im DSM-5 als auch dem ICD-11 erstmals den Angststörungen zugeordnet. Selektive Serotonin-Wiederaufnahmehemmer (SSRIs) sind Mittel der ersten Wahl bei Patienten, die auf eine multimodale psychotherapeutische Intervention unzureichend angesprochen haben.
