Prosthetic mesh infection is often considered as a surgeon’s nightmare. This usually results in significant morbidity as conservative treatment with antibiotics and/or percutaneous drainage have limited definitive success. Infected meshes are usually explanted, leaving behind a large abdominal wall defect that requires subsequent placement of a biologic mesh or abdominal wall reconstruction [
