A man [age not clearly stated] underwent decompression of his left L5 nerve root and received intraoperative tramadol. Following surgery, he experienced severe nausea when he tried to sit. A Foley catheter was inserted and his bladder was drained. The following morning, his nausea had resolved and the catheter was removed. His postoperative recovery was further complicated by constipation, which required treatment with a bisacodyl suppository and a hypertonic sodium phosphate enema. He subsequently received interferential therapy with paracetamol, diclofenac and chlorzoxazone [route, dosage, time to reaction onset and outcome not stated]. …
