In 2012, Boston Children’s Hospital implemented iMDsoft’s Metavision (Tel Aviv, Israel) as its anesthesia information management system (AIMS) software. After its implementation, we saw an opportunity to enhance teaching and patient safety during delivery of low flow anesthesia. This led to the collaborative development of a “low-flow” interface that was incorporated into the system by 2015. The interface enables anesthesiologists to dynamically add custom graphical trends of all data elements recorded in AIMS. The data can be represented with different icons/colors, scales, and overlaid on the same grid for visual correlation. Unfortunately, this AIMS is being replaced with a system that does not allow for custom graphs. Therefore, we wish to preserve the legacy of this unique system feature in the hopes of inspiring future AIMS developers and anesthesiologists to advocate for development of similar functionality. …
