Plattenepithelkarzinom des Rektums

Zusammenfassung

Das Plattenepithelkarzinom des Rektums ist eine sehr seltene histopathologische Entität und macht nur etwa 0,1–0,3 % aller malignen Rektumneoplasien aus. Die genaue Ätiologie ist unklar. Klinik und Diagnostik gleichen denen des rektalen Adenokarzinoms. Allgemeingültige Empfehlungen oder Richtlinien hinsichtlich der Therapie gibt es nicht. Die Behandlungsoptionen basieren auf denen des Adenokarzinoms des Rektums sowie des analen Plattenepithelkarzinoms, wobei aufgrund histopathologischer Analogien zum analen Plattenepithelkarzinom in den vergangenen Jahren die primäre Radiochemotherapie die bevorzugte Therapie darstellt. Die Prognose des rektalen Plattenepithelkarzinoms scheint im Vergleich zum Adenokarzinom schlechter zu sein.
