Bone metastasis is the unavoidable clinical challenge for oncologists. Unbearable bone pain and functional loss caused by pathological fractures are often the reasons why patients seek medical services and haunt them in the following years. Not only breast cancer patients, but also patients of renal cell carcinoma and prostate cancer would encounter such dilemmas. We read with interest the paper by Liu Yang et al. entitled “Survival in Breast Cancer Patients with Bone Metastasis: A Multicenter Real-World Study on the Prognostic Impact of Intensive Postoperative Bone Scan after Initial Diagnosis of Breast Cancer (CSBrS-023)” [
1], in which a more active bone scan (BS) screening strategy was proposed in postoperative surveillance. …
