A 68-year-old man who underwent a total laryngectomy with bilateral functional neck dissection and tracheoesophageal puncture with voice prothesis placement due to transglottic squamous cell carcinoma (pT3N0M0). One year after surgery he presented a loco-regional recurrence (rT2N2bM0), requiring partial pharyngectomy with reconstruction with pectoralis major flap, modified left radical neck dissection, right level V neck dissection, and subsequent complementary radiotherapy. The voice prosthesis remained functional and the patient had no dysphagia throughout the process. One year after the end of adjuvant treatment, the patient presented with recurrent respiratory infections and dysphagia. …
