Zusammenfassung

Die Kommunikation mit schwerkranken Patienten stellt für den Arzt eine erhebliche, oft belastende Herausforderung dar. Wie können schlechte Nachrichten übermittelt werden? Wie kann ein informiertes Einverständnis erzielt werden? Gespräche mit Angehörigen, Diskussionen im Behandlungsteam und psychosoziale Probleme rücken in den Vordergrund. Wie viel Offenheit und Information wollen die Patienten, wie viel Wahrheit ist zumutbar? Grundsätzliche Überlegungen und Anleitungen zu Aufklärungsgesprächen werden dargestellt und auch, wie wir mit beruflichen Niederlagen umgehen.
