Vitiligo is a chronic, autoimmune depigmenting disorder of the skin with an estimated population-based prevalence between 0.76 and 1.11% within the United States (U.S.) [
1]. As compared to the general population, vitiligo patients experience a greater prevalence of psychiatric comorbidities such as depression and anxiety. Vitiligo can be particularly distressing for individuals with skin of color, as the depigmented patches are often more noticeable. Moreover, it has been shown that the degree of depression in vitiligo patients can be attributed to cultural perceptions of skin dyspigmentation and base skin color [
