18. Sport bei Patienten mit angeborenen Herzfehlern (inklusive rechtsventrikulären Vitien)

Zusammenfassung

Angeborene Herzfehler sind die häufigsten angeborenen Fehlbildungen und kommen in ungefähr 0,8 % aller Lebendgeburten vor. Die Fortschritte unter anderem in der pädiatrischen Herz-Thorax-Chirurgie der letzten 60–70 Jahre brachten eine Verschiebung der Möglichkeiten von überwiegend palliativen zu (mehr oder weniger) korrigierenden Operationen. Gleichzeitig mit dem Anstieg dieser operativen Korrekturen konnten auch Verbesserungen in medizinischen Behandlungsschemata für diese Patienten erfolgen, sodass daraus ein deutlicher Rückgang in der Morbidität und Mortalität resultierte. Der größte Benefit ist bei jenen mit mittelgradig schwieriger oder komplexer Anatomie gegeben. Die Anzahl der Erwachsenen mit angeborenen Herzfehler (EMAH) ist dadurch größer als jene im Kindesalter.
