Wohl kaum ein zweites Therapeutikum hat in der Orthopädie, sowohl in der konservativen wie auch der perioperativen Therapie, den klinischen Alltag und die Grundlagenforschung so nah zusammengebracht wie das plättchenreiche Plasma (thrombozytenreiches Plasma, „platelet-rich plasma“, PrP). Allerdings ist auch bei kaum einer Therapieform die Datenlage so kontrovers wie zum Thema PrP. In der großen Anzahl an Studien zum Thema PrP finden sich aktuell Argumente für und gegen die Anwendung bei nahezu jedem erdenklichen orthopädischen Krankheitsbild: von der chronischen Ansatztendinose, Bandscheibenschäden, akuten Weichteilverletzungen über die Kniegelenkarthrose bis hin zur perioperativen Anwendung im Rahmen von Meniskus‑, Knorpel‑, Kreuzband- oder Rotatorenmanschettenoperationen [1, 5, 35, 42, 46, 47]. …
