Zusammenfassung

Seit der Einführung in den 1970er-Jahren revolutionierte die Cholangioskopie die Diagnostik und Therapie im Bereich der Gallengänge. Unter direkter Sicht ist es durch hochauflösende Bildqualität und gezielte Probenentnahme möglich, unklare Läsionen besser als mit jeder anderen Bildgebung zu differenzieren. Zudem bieten moderne Cholangioskope zahlreiche therapeutische Möglichkeiten, die von der simplen Drahtplatzierung unter Sicht über die Steintherapie, bis hin zu komplexen Rescuetherapien reichen. In ausgewählten Fällen kann durch diese diagnostischen und therapeutischen Fähigkeiten eine nahezu röntgenfreie Untersuchung möglich gemacht werden. Aufgrund der niedrigen Komplikationsrate und der immer breiteren Anwendungsmöglichkeit ist davon auszugehen, dass sich die Cholangioskopie zu einem Standardverfahren der endoskopischen retrograden Cholangiopankreatikographie (ERCP) entwickeln wird.
