A healthy 4-year-old girl had a cardiac murmur detected during a routine physical examination. She had no family history of congenital heart diseases. Her mother had taken no drugs during her pregnancy. During an external examination of the heart, an audible grade 3/6 systolic murmur could be heard at the heart apex. The girl’s pulse rate was normal. She had a blood pressure of 88/69 mmHg, and her liver was not enlarged. Her neurologic examination was normal.
