AKT1 (v-akt murine thymoma viral oncogene homologue 1) kinase (synonymously called protein kinase B) is a central mediator of the PI3kinase signaling pathway. It plays a pivotal role in fundamental cellular functions such as proliferation and survival and is frequently activated in a variety of human cancers [
