Infants of parents with mental illness are at significant risk for poor outcomes. The aim of “Infants of parents with mental illness: Developmental, clinical, cultural and personal perspectives” is to increase understanding of the impact of parental mental illness on the family and how to achieve improved outcomes for infants growing up in psychosocial circumstances that might impair parental functioning. There has been research and clinical attention on adults with mental illness, but relatively less attention paid to parenting issues in the context of mental illness, and even less written on issues for the infants of these parents. As such, this book fills a gap in the literature. …
