Excerpt

This patient, employed in the construction sector, was hit in the back by a falling high-voltage cable. He grabbed it, tried to throw it away, and then passed out. Luckily, the power was cut in time, enabling his colleagues to come to his rescue. A few days after admission to the hospital, clinicians suspected osteomyelitis in the right scapula and requested a bone scan.
  • Flow study showing hyperemia projecting on the right scapula (a). Late images showing hypercaptation projecting on the right scapula, several right dorsal ribs, the left iliac wing, the right femur (proximal), and both hands (R>L; b). Detailed images of the right shoulder show uptake in the soft tissue above the scapula, and bone involvement could not be excluded (c).
