Früheste erythropoetische Progenitorzelle, die nach Stimulation die Fähigkeit besitzt, in halbfestem Medium große, erythroide Zellnester zu bilden.
Beschreibung
Die BFU-E ist die früheste erythropoetische Vorläuferzelle, die nach Stimulation durch Interleukin-3 (IL-3) und GM-CSF aus der hämatopoetischen Vorläuferzelle CFU-GEMM (Colony-forming-unit-Granulocyte-Erythroid-Makrophage-Megakaryocyte) hervorgeht. Nach Stimulation durch Erythropoetin erfolgt die Proliferation und Differenzierung zum Proerythroblasten.
