This special issue has focused on the intersection of dissemination and implementation (D&I) research and community engaged (CE) research. These two approaches have largely emerged along parallel tracks at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) over the course of the last few decades, but both are consistent with NIH’s overarching mission to “enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability.” Achieving this goal involves a complex set of processes and stakeholders working together to improve the uptake of evidence and evidence-based health interventions. …
