Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS, OMIM#142690) is a chronic, severe inflammatory skin disease [1]. It is characterized by the presence of double-ended comedones, subcutaneous nodules, sinus tracts, fibrotic scars, and dermal contractures in the apocrine gland-bearing body areas such as axillae, inguinal, perianal, and inframammary regions [1]. HS impacts negatively on patient’ quality of life; in fact, it presents chronic recurrent manifestations, extremely painful and debilitating for the individuals; moreover, the discharge of purulent materials from the lesions leads to feeling of embarrassment and social isolation [2]. …
