Zusammenfassung

Die Funktion der oberen Extremität ist einzigartig. Viele alltägliche Bewegungsabläufe können erst durch das Zusammenspiel aller Anteile der oberen Extremität durchgeführt werden. Diese Bewegungsabläufe sind oft mit hoher Komplexität und extremer Präzision verbunden. Funktionsstörungen der oberen Extremität können aus unterschiedlichsten Pathologien resultieren. Bei fehlgeschlagener konservativer Behandlung kann eine Operation zu einer Verbesserung der Funktion und/oder Stellung führen. Die operativen Behandlungsoptionen beinhalten ein breites Spektrum an Weichteileingriffen, Arthrotomien, Osteotomien und Arthrodesen.
