Excerpt

Since 2010, the Young Working Group has been operating under the auspices of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM). The Young Working Group was originally formed in 2009 by a physician from the Working Group of European Junior Doctors of the Nuclear Medicine Section of the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes. The primary objective of the Young Working Group, which officially became a committee in 2013, is to represent the interests of nuclear medicine trainees and young EANM members. The Committee has initiated efforts to draw attention to the ideas of young physicians about training and to the imminent future of nuclear medicine. To gain a better understanding of the educational needs and wishes of junior and in-training nuclear medicine physicians the Committee developed and disseminated a survey in 2014. The aim was to obtain data on current educational standards of participants and their deficiencies, and also to plan what to do next to achieve progress.
