Hilfsmittel in der NFP wie Zykluscomputer oder Fertility-Apps können Frauen bei der Aufzeichnung und Beurteilung des Zyklus unterstützen. Sie sind jedoch nicht besser als die normale FAB. Leider existieren zu dieser Frage bis heute wenige wirklich aussagekräftige Studien. Heute dienen diese Hilfsmittel vor allem dem Erzielen einer Schwangerschaft, zur SS-Verhütung sind sie weniger geeignet. Untersuchungen zu dieser Fragestellung sind dringend nötig.
