Reproduktive Physiologie: Endokrine Regulation der weiblichen Brust

Die Gynäkologie
Bei der weiblichen Brust handelt es sich um eine hoch spezialisierte Hautdrüse. Ihre Entwicklung erfolgt aus der sogenannten Milchleiste, die bereits in der 5./6. SSW im Bereich des ventralen Ektoderms des Embryos entsteht und sich von der Axilla bis in die Leiste zieht. Mit fortschreitender Embryonalentwicklung bildet sich die Milchleiste größtenteils zurück und es bleiben zwei Brustknospen im Bereich des Thorax erhalten. Bei Störungen dieser Rückbildung kann es zu akzessorischen Mammae (Polymastie) oder Mamillen (Polythelie) kommen. Das Ektoderm der Brustknospe wächst in das darunterliegende Mesenchym ein und es kommt zur Ausbildung rudimentärer Brustdrüsengänge.
