Zusammenfassung

Zur Behandlung der Depression steht ein breitgefächertes Repertoire an Maßnahmen zur Verfügung. Die Effektivität von Pharmako- und Psychotherapie ist jedoch begrenzt. Als wichtigste Neuerung der letzten 20 Jahre gilt die Entwicklung strukturierter Therapiealgorithmen, deren Befolgung häufiger und schneller zur Response führt. Neuentwicklungen im Bereich der Psychopharmakotherapie sind mit Zurückhaltung aufzunehmen.
