A 60-year-old woman developed thyroid dysfunction following treatment with amiodarone for cardiac arrhythmia. The woman, who had been receiving treatment with amiodarone at the maximum dose of 200 mg/day [route not stated] for cardiac arrhythmia, was admitted to ER for generalised convulsive seizures and gastric malaise. Further biochemical examinations revealed elevated serum thyrotropin (TSH) levels [time to reaction onset and outcome not stated], moderate hypokalaemia and moderate hepatic cytolysis. …
