Currently, the use of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for breast cancer increases eligibility for breast-conserving surgery (BCS) and decreases need for axillary node dissection. The survival of women undergoing BCS after NAC is equivalent to those undergoing mastectomy.
