The association between peptic ulcer disease and other comorbidities has been extensively evaluated [

2]. Recently, one cohort study using the database of Korean National Health Insurance Service (KNHIS) conducted by Choi et al. published in
Archives of Osteoporosis reported that the risk of developing osteoporosis was higher in people with peptic ulcer disease than in people without peptic ulcer disease (hazard ratio = 1.36 and 95% confidence interval = 1.33–1.40) [
3]. These findings were compatible with other studies [
