Catherine of Aragon was the Spanish-born Queen of England who died early during her second marriage as the first wife of Henry VIII. She had only one surviving daughter (Mary I) from seven pregnancies. Her premature death occurred during a period where a possibly ill Henry VIII [1] had declared their marriage illegal in order to facilitate his second marriage. The traditional analysis of her death has been ascribed to poisoning, anorexia [2] or cancer [3]. …
