Ascites is a common complication in a cirrhotic patient and indicates a worse prognosis with high mortality. It leads to considerable morbidity, repeated hospitalizations, and significantly impairs quality of life [
1]. Large volume paracentesis (LVP) is an accepted modality in the management of large, tense and refractory ascites [
