In a single-centre, retrospective, practice-based study performed in Germany and involving 37 women, one adult woman was described [exact age not stated], who developed spotting episodes during treatment with dienogest for endometriosis. The woman, who had adenomyosis uteri, started receiving oral dienogest 2mg tablets [Visanne] once daily for endometriosis. However, she experienced recurrent, non-cyclic episodes of bleeding [duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated]. Dienogest was temporarily withheld; however, the bleeding did not subside. Due to the satisfactory pain reduction with dienogest, she tolerated the adverse effects and received no additional therapy. …
