Zusammenfassung

Im Alter kommt es physiologischerweise zu Veränderungsprozessen, die alle Phasen des Schluckaktes betreffen, zur sogenannten primären Presbyphagie. Können diese Veränderungen nicht mehr kompensiert werden oder kommen weitere Faktoren wie Erkrankungen oder Medikamente hinzu, führt dies sehr viel schneller zu einer gravierenderen Schluckstörung als in jungen Jahren, zur Presbydysphagie bzw. sekundären Presbyphagie.
