56. Gesundheitsökonomische Aspekte von Rückenschmerzen

Zusammenfassung

Rückenschmerzen gehen nicht nur mit bedeutenden Einschränkungen der Lebensqualität der Betroffenen durch Schmerzen und Funktionsbeeinträchtigungen einher, sondern stellen auch eine enorme wirtschaftliche Belastung für die Gesellschaft dar. Der größte Teil der durch Rückenschmerzen verursachten Kosten ist auf Produktionsausfallkosten aufgrund von Arbeitsunfähigkeit und verminderter Produktivität am Arbeitsplatz zurückzuführen. Daher sollten aus gesundheitsökonomischer Perspektive vornehmlich Therapiestrategien zum Einsatz kommen, die eine Verringerung der Arbeitsunfähigkeit zur Folge haben. Die Frage nach der kosteneffektivsten Therapieform bei Rückenschmerzen kann jedoch derzeit aufgrund der Vielzahl an möglichen Behandlungsalternativen sowie der teilweise sehr heterogenen Ergebnisse bisheriger Evaluationsstudien nicht abschließend beantwortet werden.
