Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is a hematologic disorder characterized by autoimmune-mediated platelet destruction. Although prednisone (or prednisolone) is generally used for treatment of ITP, high-dose dexamethasone therapy is also effective and leads to rapid recovery of platelet count [
