Zusammenfassung

Der M. triceps brachii fungiert als Hauptextensor des Ellenbogens. Rupturen oder Ausrisse der Trizepssehne sind dabei allgemein eine seltene Verletzung. Meist ist die distale Sehne an der Insertion betroffen. Die häufigsten Begleitverletzungen sind Frakturen des Radiusköpfchens. Häufig sind degenerative Vorschädigungen prädisponierend. Zu den Risikofaktoren zählen lokale Steroidinjektionen, Anabolikamissbrauch, dialysepflichtige Niereninsuffizienz, Hyperparathyreoidismus, Lupus erythematodes und das Marfan-Syndrom. Der häufigste Traumamechanismus ist ein direkter Sturz auf den ausgestreckten Arm oder ein Schlag auf den Ellenbogen. Diagnostisch ist neben der klinischen Untersuchung und der Sonographie die Magnetresonanztomagraphie entscheidend. Die Therapie umfasst konservative und operative Ansätze, wobei die Indikation zur Operation abhängig von Patientenalter, funktionellem Anspruch, Beteiligung der dominanten Extremität sowie Ausmaß der Ruptur großzügig gestellt wird.
