A comparison of the 2002 International Continence Society (ICS) Terminology Standardization Report [1] with its predecessor [2] reveals obvious discrepancies and ambiguities in the former. Seriously affected is the urogynecology terminology for “conditions” (diagnoses). ICS terminology is currently used as a reference by the International Urogynecological Association, the American Urogynecological Society, the European Urogynecological Association and many other national urogynecological and gynecological groups. …
