A 64-year-old man started taking intermittent loratadine [Restamine; dosage not stated] for rhinitis in December 2007. By April 2008, he had experienced several episodes of fixed drug eruptions with numerous 2-5cm lesions following loratadine intake [times to reaction onsets not stated]. Lesions affected his arms, hands, back, neck, sacral region and buttocks, and resolved with residual hyperpigmentation. A few hours after loratadine intake on 24 April 2008, he presented with reactivation of previous lesions, as well as new-onset of macular erythematous lesions. Loratadine was discontinued and his fixed drug eruption did not recur.Author Comment“Diagnosis of fixed drug eruption due to loratadine was established in front of recurrent episodes of fixed drug eruption closely related to intermittent administration of loratadine and the positive rechallenge.” …
