As a neurotraumatologist with a clinical and scientific interest in spinal cord injury (SCI), I was pleased to be given the opportunity to read this publication, which is edited and, in part, written by two leaders in the field of SCI management, research and rehabilitation. The book is thoroughly planned, with nice illustrations and elegant didactic details, such as the selection of five must-read references and the “pearls and pitfalls” summaries at the end of each chapter. In total, this publication covers 191 pages over 14 chapters, with a total of 31 figures of high quality and many additional tables. The guest editors themselves have contributed substantially to the publication, where Dr. Fehlings co-authored six chapters and Dr. Weidner three. …
