Upper cervical cord compression (UCCC) is generally caused by various diseases [
1]. The symptoms due to UCCC are varied and diverse [

4]. Patients with UCCC have neck pain, posterior occipital headache, quadriparesis, paraparesis, monoparesis, and sensory abnormalities, including cervical myelopathy and radiculopathy [

8]. Thus, the judgment of the symptoms owing to UCCC is difficult. Here, we encountered two cases with monoparesis of the upper extremity due to ipsilateral UCCC. This is the first report regarding the rare symptoms of monoparesis and well-demonstrated MRI findings. …
