Paolo Caliari, known as Paolo Veronese (1528–1588), was an Italian Renaissance painter, renowned for his large-sized paintings concerning religious and mythological themes. Together with Titian and Tintoretto, he is considered one of the most influential artists from Venice, even if of this “trio” Veronese has gained less appreciation in modern times. Though highly influenced by Titian, Veronese’s naturalistic style is less sublime than that of Titian and Tintoretto.
